Launch of IBFF’s online learning platform targets mental health and wellbeing concerns / issues in young people. Through a gamified, interactive online environment, the platform supports young people aged 12-13 years achieve mental wellbeing through values-based goal setting and the development of vision statements.
By leveraging technology, the platform extends IBFF’s successful Onwards & Upwards wellbeing program and provides opportunity for young people to celebrate their vision and plans for the future.
When a young person in school has good mental health, they are: Interested, curious and absorbed in learning; pursues and achieves learning goals with determination; have a growth mindset when faced with learning challenges; a sense of optimism about future learning; engaged in social and emotional learning as appropriate for developmental level.
Through our current Onwards & Upwards programs, 77% of students improved their ability to set and achieve goals; achieve positive and sustained change over a 6 to 20+ month period; with 85% of participants finding the programs highly rewarding. Our focus has always been on arming young people with practical skills to enable them to create better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
